Grappenhall hit Tarporley for six!

Premier Division

 

Knutsford retained their unbeaten run of form as they finished 5-1 winners at home against Styal. Lee Manion hit a hat trick, while Tom Rutter and Liam Myers also hit home to put Knutsford top of the table on goal difference.

 

Tom Gibson scored in the 64th minute for Rylands as they scraped a 1-0 win away at local rivals Eagle Sports to slot in just behind Knutsford in second place.

 

Last season’s top scorer Mike Dewhurst added three to this season’s tally as he helped Gamesley to a 5-3 win over Whaley Bridge. Josh Stevenson and Thomas Burns also hit home on a successful evening for the Derbyshire side.

 

A hat trick each from Andy Hurst and Andy Oakes saw Poynton run out 6-3 winners away at Denton Town, while Linotype CHN look to have found their form, beating Congleton Vale 3-1 away. Mike Thomas opened the scoring in the 20th minute, only for Carl McCurrie to equalise from the penalty spot two minutes later to put the sides level at half time. Second half goals from Thomas and Phil Yuille secured the win for the away side.

A single goal from Lee Parry was all that Malpas needed to get their fourth win of the season, beating Rudheath Social 1-0 at home to move within a point of the top two.

Garswood United’s first win of the season came as they beat Greenalls PSO 3-1 away thanks to goals from Alex McMillan (2) and Paul Bathgate.

Sandbach United finished 3-1 winners in their local derby away at Crewe as Jake Pogson, Leeroy Chakanyuka and Pacome Jeremy hit home. Nathan Southern scored Crewe's only goal.

 

 

League One

 

Middlewich Town v Altrincham Reserves was abandoned after 13 minutes after an Altrincham player suffered a serious leg injury resulting in play being suspended while they awaited an ambulance. Everyone at the Cheshire League wishes the player a very speedy recovery.

 

Wythenshawe Town appear to be unstoppable as they strolled out 4-0 winners at home against Daten. Remmi Williams bagged a brace, with James Green and Jason Walley also making the score sheet.

 

Alex Griesdale opened the scoring in the 12th minute as Penlake travelled to Golborne Sports. Their lead was doubled just before half time when Craig Todhunter’s effort beat the Golborne keeper to make it 2-0 at the break. However an impressive second half performance saw Golborne come from behind to win 3-2 through goals from Dean Wilkinson, Davis Sargent and Josh Taffe.

 

Grappenhall Sports finished 6-2 winners away at Tarporley Victoria to get their first three points of the season. Dan Sission and Matt Ball both scored twice, with Dan Kimber and Sam Bruce also scoring for the Warrington side.

 

Maine Road Reserves got their first win of the season, beating Egerton 3-0 at home thanks to goals from Joel Senior, Rob Wallis and Mike Carcamo..

 

 

League Two

 

 

Lostock Gralam remain top of the table by one point following their 1-1 draw at home against Moore United. Sam Chaddock scored on his debut for Moore with the opening goal on the half hour mark before Will Reid pulled things level for Lostock before the half time whistle.

 

Warrington Town Reserves won their second fixture as they finished 4-3 winners in a tight game at Mersey Valley. Chris Bandell scored twice with Dylan Glass and Rhys Bowers also making the score sheet.

 

 

AFC Macclesfield also made it two wins in two with a 2-0 win over West Didsbury & Chorlton Reserves through goals from Mike Byrne and Chris Allen.

 

Litherland Remyca Reserves got off the mark, beating fellow newcomers FC St Helens 5-3 away. Jake Connor, Macauley Lawrenson, Josh Jessop and Corey Boyce (2) all scored for the Liverpool side, while Callum Laird and Liam Houghton hit home for St Helens.

Will Aldred and Obi Beevers (2) scored for Unicorn Athletic as they got their first win of the season, beating Cheadle Town Reserves 3-0 away. Unicorn will now travel to league leaders Lostock on Saturday, while Cheadle play away at Moore United on Tuesday.
