Remyca scoop prestigious Award from Sefton Council

At a prestigious awards ceremony at Southport Theatre this evening, Litherland Remyca Football Club have been named Sefton a Sports Club of the year 2015.

The club we're delighted and somewhat surprised to have been named as winners ahead of other nominees Hillside Lawn Tennis Club, Formby Swimming Club and Chesterfield Netball Club. All nominees were so nominated because of their hard work in the community, volunteer work and Work to develop sport within the Sefton Borough.
Club chairman Don Rimmer on receiving the award on behalf of the Club stated.

"This recognition is massive and speaks volumes for the development that has taken place within our club in a short period of time. This award is across every conceivable sport within wider Sefton Borough, so competition is intense. The feedback on the night from judges and great sports people was unbelievable and everyone at the club should be proud of what has been achieved.

We are obviously developing the correct way. What impressed people was our sport for all approach, based in the community with good values and standards, developing partnerships with schools and other community organisations.
Our pathway approach to developing players was also noted with an opportunity to progress to elite football at County level.

Several delegates commented on the passion and determination within the club to succeed, often against the odds and the many thousands of pounds raised to improve facilities and meet FA ground grading.

We had a table of ten at the event with representation from a variety of teams and age groups. It was a fantastic night but the award and recognition is for every coach/ manager player, volunteer, committee member supporter who are involved in our great club. Our stock is high and our profile and name continues to rise but this award will allow us to build our club further with wider organisations and potential sponsors.

We are on a proverbial roll, lets push on again
