Moore United Reserves smash seven past Mersey Valley Dev

Premier Division
Rudheath Social caused an upset at the top of the table as they beat Knutsford 3-0 away from home. Knutsford were reduced to ten men in the 50th minute as goal keeper John Stanway saw red. Craig Millington scored twice in five minutes for Rudheath to give them a comfortable lead. Daniel Stockton added the third late into injury time to secure the points for the away side.

Malpas were in amongst the goals again as they shared the points with Denton Town in a twelve goal thriller. Malpas started well and took the lead on eight minutes when Danny Lloyd fed Andy Morris who saw his effort bounce back off the keeper hit Morris and end up in the net.
Four minutes later it was 2-0 when a good Malpas move resulted in the ball falling for Eddy Barlow who lashed it home. Denton responded well and soon after it was 2-1 as Marti Bentley hit home from an angle, giving Conner Tinsley in the Malpas goal no chance. Denton had control and a penalty levelled the game on 20 minutes and poor defending saw two more quick goals to see Denton go 4-2 up within ten minutes as Jordan McCann, Ryan Liddle and Carl Walker added to their tally.

However, Denton were struggling to stop Malpas going forward and on 32 minutes, Morris popped up with his second of the game as he headed home from a corner to make it 4-3. The game was level on 44 minutes when another cross saw Eddy Barlow pop up at the far post to head home and take the sides into the break level having scored four each.

The second half started in a much calmer fashion as both sides attempted to build from the back and battle it out in midfield. Lee Parry broke through for Malpas, only for Mark Dillnutt to come out and save well at his feet. With 20 minutes left, the madness started again when a corner found Joe Sumner free to fire a header into the top corner and give Malpas the lead once more. Denton pressed and looked for an equaliser goal, pushing Malpas back and a deflected shot saw Bentley get his second of the game.

With minutes remaining Lee Parry picked the ball up twenty yards out and fired into the net for what looked like the winner but late into injury time Denton were awarded a penalty for a foul in the box that saw McCann hit home to make it 6-6 from the spot.

Whaley Bridge extended their lead at the top to three points after their 2-2 draw at home against Linotype CHN, while Gamesley moved up into third place following a 2-0 win at home against Poynton. Vinnie Braine and Josh Stevenson were both on the scoresheet again for the Derbyshire side.

Goals from Carl Everall (2) and Ethan Tizard helped Crewe to a 3-1 win in their local derby against Sandbach United. The three points pull Crewe out of the bottom two and leave them two points above the drop zone.

Greenalls PSO moved up to ninth spot after beating Styal 6-2 away. Lee Vaughan and Ben McWilliams both scored twice, while Mark Hughes and Phil Harrison also hit home. Troy Hayder and Will Abbots scored for Styal who remain in thirteenth.

League One
Altrincham Reserves started the week with a 5-0 win away at Maine Road Reserves that saw Max Pouncey bag a brace and further goals from Sam Heathcote, Joel Swift and Rob Kennerley.

Altrincham then went three points clear at the top of the table after beating Pilkington 3-0 at home, while Dean Jennings scored a 90th minute equaliser to earn Daten a point as they drew 1-1 with Grappenhall Sports.

Middlewich Town moved up to fourth place after beating Egerton 5-3 at home, while goals from Stephen Hickling and Sam Rimmer helped Golborne Sports ear a point in a 2-2 draw with Tarporley Victoria. Dan Ball and Max Owen hit home for Tarporley in the second half.

League Two

Warrington Town Reserves have been unstoppable this week as they totalled fifteen goals in two games. Wednesday saw Ben Wharton take no prisoners as he smashed six goals past Halebank. Alex Toward, Dylan Glass, Niall Ford and Rhys Bowers also hit home on a successful evening for Warrington. They followed that up with a 5-0 win away at FC St Helens as they shot up the table into second place and nestled in a point behind leaders Lostock Gralam with two games in hand.

Mersey Valley sit level on points with Warrington but slipped to third on goal difference after they won 4-3 at home against Lostock.

AFC Macclesfield also have twenty five points following their 4-2 win away at Cuddington and despite being fourth on goal difference, they have games in hand over the top three and one win could see them go top.

West Didsbury & Chorlton Reserves secured their second win of the season as they beat Litherland Remyca 2-1 away. Tommy Walsh and Joel Igenoza scored the goals that keep their side in ninth place.

Reserve League One
Poynton closed the gap at the top to three points after beating Daten 4-1 at home. The sides went into the break level at 1-1 after goals from Ciaran McManus (Daten) and Mark Faulkner (Poynton) but clever play from the home side saw substitutes Craig Brennan, Ed Bailey and Kyle Woodward all hitting home to see Poynton finish on top.

Knutsford A remain three points behind Poynton in third place following their 3-2 win away at Grappenhall Sports. Brad Williams bagged twice for Knutsford, along with a goal from Kallum McDonough. Grappenhall’s goals were scored by Chris Cassettari and Charlie Parkinson.

Linotype CHN continued their run of form as Dan Hugo and Jordan Thomson both scored twice in their 6-1 win at home against Gamesley. Jack Taylor and John Almond also scored for Linotype while Joe McConnell scored Gamesley’s only goal.

Jamie Anderson and Elliot Bradshaw both bagged a brace for Billinge and added to a goal from Liam Roughley as they beat Eagle Sports 5-3.

Reserve League Cup
Garswood United moved to the top of group A as they beat Greenalls PSO 3-2 with Jonathon Clarke (2) and Daniel Young scoring the goals.

Reserve League Two
Moore United flew up into fifth spot as they smashed an unanswered seven goals past Mersey Valley Development Squad.

Moore opened the scoring in the 15th minute when an Arnold free kick from the right is headed clear but the ball dropped to Matthew O'Dwyer just outside the box and he watched the bounce before volleying with his left foot in to the top left corner with aplomb.

Just before the half hour mark, Mersey Valley were reduced to ten as the goal keeper was dismissed for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity. O'Dwyer took the resulting free kick and bent it round the wall with his right foot and inside the right post to double his Moore's tally.

It was 3-0 after 43 minutes when Kyle Gallagher met a Matt Odie free kick at the back post and nodded the ball down inside the post. However Moore were not finished and right on half time Gaghan spun the Mersey Valley centre half before shooting into the bottom right corner for 4-0.

Five minutes after the restart Ed Bryers did well to beat his man, before pulling the ball back to Gahgan who took a great touch before smashing the ball into the corner of the net for 5-0.

The 65th minute saw more good work by Moore as Farnadi dribbled the ball through the box before playing out to Matt Odie, he pulled it across the six yard box to Gallagher but he was beaten to the ball by a defender who turned the ball into his own net to make it 6-0.

The stand in keeper had a bad day at the office as he brought down Matt Odie in the box but made amends when he denied Odie his hat trick as he saved well low down to the right to palm the ball around the post for a corner.

Gallagher completed the scoring in the 70th minute when he turned the ball home from close range following up a Tom Smith shot from range.

The only other game in the division saw Rylands extend their lead at the top to three points after a 2-0 win at home against Middlewich Town.
