Top sides take maximum points

Premier Division

Malpas top the table with three wins in three after beating Congleton Vale 2-1 at home. Chris Bevan opened the scoring which was followed up with another from Joe Sumner. Congleton’s goal came through a mix up at the back, the ball was passed back to the goal keeper but the onrushing Dan Buehler tackled him before driving the ball into the net for 2-1.

Rudheath Social sit just behind following their 1-0 win at home against Sandbach United, while Sandbach look for their first points of the season. Whaley Bridge moved up to third following a 4-1 win away at Denton Town thanks to goals from Joe Burgess, Ray Dwolitka, Terrence Butler and an own goal, while Poynton collected their first points of the season with a 3-0 win over Gamesley.

Eagle Sports also got off the mark following their 1-0 win at Garswood United. The game was a tight affair with both sides desperate to get their first win of the new campaign. Neither side really had a clear opportunity in the first half and the teams went in level at the break.

The second half was much more open as both sides pressed for the breakthrough but it was Eagle who got it, when a Lee Boardman free kick was headed home by Owen Ellis, who claimed his second goal in two games.

Ellis could have doubled the lead soon after but his effort went agonisingly over the bar. Garswood were looking for an equaliser, with Craig Hall being forced into a goal line clearance but the Eagle defence held on for the win.

Knutsford sit in second after a convincing 5-0 win at home against Crewe. Liam Myers, Ebbe Rezayan, Jonny Scott, Mark Evans and Dave Owens all scored in the second half to continue Knutsford’s unbeaten run.

Linotype CHN found their winning form as they beat Styal 4-1 at home. Carlos Meakin opened the scoring with a 20 yard free kick which he sent crashing into the top corner. Styal equalised through Nick Crerand to put the sides level going into the break but a strong second half from Linotype saw further goals from Meakin, Mike Thomas and Raul Correia to secure the points.

Goals from Tom Swann and Ben Howard helped Rylands to a 2-0 win over local rivals Greenalls PSO moving them up to fourth with seven points from a possible nine.
